I know how to get myself out of my blog slump. I can rehumor (did I just make up a new English word?) myself with what happened in church on Saturday night. Wait! Is this allowed on blogs since it is not in church? Oh yeah, it's my blog and I can write about it. If funny odoriferous smells are not your thing, scroll down and read about my family watching my husband unknowingly eating my homemade dog food for a good laugh!Let me set the stage. I am in the middle of Robert and Lauren. At one point during the service, I got a quick whiff of something not so pleasant. I am sure quietly in Robert and Lauren's heads they are thinking, "MOM!", but like I said it was quick so probably NOT!
At the very end of service, the closing song which happened to be one of my all time favorites, "Mighty to Save"(God's humor at play here with song choice!) had everyone off their feet and praising God (and doing something else) when that earlier quick whiff came back on with a vengeance, so much so it was impossible to ignore. I keep my head down so I won't start laughing or puking in church. I sense with great intensity that Lauren and Robert are both staring at me with disgust. I start getting the in-church laugh. You know the kind where you are trying to hold it in because you don't want the person who really let it out feel bad seeing you laugh? Not to mention inappropriate laughing in church is just one of those places you don't want to go. Admittedly, it can be cathartic, kind of like a good cry!
I was overcome by the in-church laugh to the point of no return. I so desperately wanted to let my family know that I indeed did NOT let that thing out of me in church, but all I could manage was a hold-my-head-down-shoulders-bouncing-up-and-down-tears-rolling-out-of-my-eyes-legs-crossing-tightly LAUGH!

That is SO funny!! I have totally been there. That reminds me of the episode of The Mary Tyler Moore show where she starts cracking up at a funeral. It was so hilarious.
Good thing I wasn't there with you or we both would have been rolling on the ground and probably would not have been welcomed back! :)
That is so funny! That has happened to us- we get immediately into accusing each other and denying it!
It does feel so good to just belly laugh! the more you are not supposed to laugh the more you can not help it!!
I wish I would have seen that MAry Tyler Moore show! Sounds Hilarious!!
That's too funny. Our M learnt that if you sat on a wooden pew at church, those little toots made a much louder noise. I'd just pretend it didn't come from our pew. Great story!!
Too funny! I can remember being in church with my Gram and something would make either me or Amy laugh. She would get so mad and the harder we would try to not laugh the more we would laugh. I bet your family totally blamed you!!!
